Chinese M2 Growth Slows in April

Year-on-year M2 growth officially slowed to 8.3 percent. It ticked up slightly from 8.8 to 8.9 percent going by the data published by the PBoC. This rise was due to the April one-month decline of 0.13 percent being smaller than the dip in April 2017.

Three-month annualized M2 growth tumbled though, to 4.0 percent from last month's 15.8 percent. This was the largest three-month deceleration since 2013.
